The position is classified as an RÉ-07 ($105,786 to $136,312 per annum). 2021 rates - salary under review. JOB OVERVIEW Reporting to the Director, Centre of Expertise, you will manage and oversee environmental and civil engineering services, projects, and programs at the NCC for the preservation and rehabilitation of existing assets, and construction of new assets. You will prepare project work plans, oversee design and construction plans, and ensure that NCC assets are environmentally responsible, sustainable, and fit for purpose. You will provide professional advice and subject matter expertise to internal and external stakeholders. ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS: EDUCATION A degree from a recognized post-secondary institution with a specialization in Civil Engineering, Environmental Engineering, or Geoscience, or an acceptable combination of post-secondary education, training and/or experience. LICENCE Must be registered as a professional engineer OR geoscientist with a Canadian engineering or geoscience regulator. EXPERIENCE A minimum of eight years of experience in civil engineering, environmental engineering, or geoscience. • Experience providing technical advice to internal and external stakeholders. • Experience managing teams of environment or civil engineering professionals. • Experience preparing project work plans for environmental engineering or civil engineering projects. KNOWLEDGE • Of sustainable building design, construction cost, systems, and materials management. • Of relevant environmental and civil engineering legislation, standards, and best practices. ABILITIES • To establish and manage relationships with internal and external stakeholders such as federal government, municipalities, regulators etc. • To negotiate and manage contracts; and monitor the work of external contractors. • To manage a multidisciplinary team effectively. ASSETS • Master's degree in civil or environmental engineering. • Previous experience working on environmental engineering or civil engineering projects involving NCC or Federal lands. • Other professional designations and/or PMP. WORKING CONDITIONS • Occasionally required to visit construction sites to review progress of work. CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT • Possess or eligible to obtain Secret security clearance. • Linguistic profile: Bilingual CBC. • Position is in the National Capital Region. The person selected for this position must reside within a commutable distance from the workplace at 40 Elgin Street, Ottawa, Ontario. • The National Capital Commission offers a hybrid and flexible work environment, all employees are currently asked to work on-site at least two (2) days per week. #J-18808-Ljbffr
