Job DescriptionIP/MPLS Core Network Technical Support Specialist job to ensure service and network availability, monitor and maintain healthy network, change procedure review and execution to ensure smooth network configuration modification, modernization, and version upgrade.
A typical day
- Responsible for network infrastructure management, including monitoring, configuration, and maintenance to ensure service level.
- Monitoring and resolving alerts and trouble tickets to deliver an exceptional customer experience service.
- Enhance the reliability of the network through proactive performance, operational data analysis and the adoption of service improvement suggestions.
- IP/MPLS core network configuration modification/change execution.
- End to end service impact analysis before and after any modification/change.
- End to end node performance analysis before and after any modification/change.
- Ensure other supportive CTASK owner are in Synch and perform necessary check before and after any modification/change.
- Co-ordinate with IP design, change management and NoC before and after any modification and change.
- Co-ordinate with nodes vendor for troubleshooting, standby support and RMA.
- Handle and resolution of stakeholder generated or NoC generated INC ticket withing SLA.
- Perform assessment for vendor planned activity CTASK and approval.
- Troubleshoot the logged faults and isolate the cause to minimize impacts.
- Support the implementation of new equipment, ATP and UAT.
- Help to develop and refine best practice, defines documents, and enforces system standards.
- Conduct LAB tests to check viability of proposed engineering solutions.
- Updates job knowledge by participating in educational session, team meeting, attend vendor provided webinar.
- Responsible for schedule 24x7 and on demand ON call support.
- Responsible for schedule and on demand MW change support.
- Maintenance activity log in secure and attached with the CTASK.
- Maintain technical documentations to align with changes and updates.
- Create the necessary documentation on systems and processes.
- Ensure nodes has automatic backup in operational and running.
- Provide technical support to business and development team.
- Accomplishes organization mission by completing related results as needed.
- Minimum of 8 to 10 years of relevant technical hands-on working experience on IP/MPLS network.
- Must have routing and switching working experience (Very Important!!).
- Must have working experience on Firewall principles and policies (Very Important!!).
- Must have knowledge on VRRF, HSRP, IPSEC, STP, RSTP, BGP, IS-IS, OSPF protocols, VRF, DHCP/DNS, SNMP, VPN and data carrying techniques (MPLS).
- Hands-on experience on Cisco router/switch/EPNM, Juniper SRX/QFX/Space, PaloAlto/Panorama, F5 BIGIP Load Balancer, Gigamon and Oracle products.
- Hands-on experience with monitoring, network diagnostic and network analytics tools.
- Knowledge on 3G, 4G, LTE, VoWIFI, VoLTE, IMS network nodes and call flow is preferred.
- Knowledge on SMS, MMS and other VAS nodes and call flow is preferred.
- Knowledge & experience of Linux system management.
- Knowledge & experience of cloud-based infrastructure deployment and maintenance.
- Must have excellent network troubleshooting, problem solving and root cause analysis skills.
- Ability to provide in-depth analysis of network traffic, and path for redundancy.
- Good understanding of operational support systems.
- Should have excellent documentation, presentation, and technical writing skill.
