Have a detailed understanding of core systems and applications along with work flow to aid in providing guidance to Project Managers Collaborate with PMs to provide solutions to complex billing terms Identify and communicate with PM's systemic root problems on projects and support development of solutions Liaise with other Accounting groups for the PM's to provide additional support Assist with Cost Tracking and Project Profitability reporting Have autonomy and the opportunity to interact and work with a community of technical experts from other Matrix regions. Partner with extensive, long standing clients such as municipal governments, conservation authorities, academia, and private industry. As a Project Accountant, you will join our Accounts Receivable team and can be based in any Matrix office location. The successful applicant will be involved in a broad range of projects with responsibilities as follows: Review and approve new projects initiated by the Project Managers. Manage project resourcing requirements. Monitor projects through the project life cycle, from inception to completion. Work closely with the Billing Contracts team to ensure appropriate documentation is obtained to ensure accurate revenue recognition. Work collaboratively with Project Managers to prepare monthly customer invoices. Support collections process and update systems with collection notes Support the Accounts Receivable and the Accounting team in other responsibilities and projects. Diploma or Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or related field Minimum of 2 years' experience in Accounts Receivable Project controls experience, a general understanding of project accounting. Experience with Workday software (or other project accounting software) an asset Good numerical and analytical abilities, including proficiency in Microsoft Excel At Matrix you will be part of an amazing community of collaborative people who live our purpose and values and bring industry-leading technical expertise to their work every day.
