Facilities Development and Real Estate Head Office Job Shift Full Time Shift Hours Store Name Head Office 090 Centre Head Office Calgary Co-op is seeking a Business Unit controller to join our Real Estate and Development team. This position will be accountable for all accounting functions, financial reporting, and financial management related to Calgary Co-op Real Estate and Development. Coordinate the accounting functions for Real Estate and Development with the team and supporting departments including Invoice Processing and Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, Gross Margins and Payroll. Contribute to and maintain strong operating controls and policies/procedures/systems relating to all Real Estate Finance matters. Lead creation of proforma for new real estate development projects. Prepare feasibilities for new store locations and store renovation project for Calgary Co-op and Subsidiaries. Proactively manage the real estate portfolio for maximum value. Lead Property Tax review and appeal process with external consultants. Manage and maintain the CRM / Property management (REMlogics) database including master tenant and rent files. Provide training to team members as required. Preparation of financial reports and analysis. Assist with completion of the annual administrative, capital and operating budgets. Responsible for operating cost reconciliations relating to the real estate portfolio. Maintain strong working relationships with all levels of management within all related organizations. Manage the development and implementation of new business processes and systems relating to the department. Assist with special projects and participate on various committees as required. Provide leadership and direction while upholding confidentiality in all lines of business including the administration of the policies and procedures for the company. Participate in the development and action of yearly competency performance work plan(s) and development action plan(s). Provide leadership in the areas of Health, Safety and Environment (HSE), including participate in HSE activities, ensuring employees are knowledgeable about and comply with HSE policies, procedures and legislation, assist in identifying unhealthy, unsafe situations and ensure corrective action is taken.
