General Manager - Hard FM

DMC Recruitment is pleased to be supporting a multinational facilities management group in their search for a General Manager - Hard FM Services for a newly awarded facilities contract in Vancouver, BC.

The General Manager - Hard FM Services will be responsible for overseeing three vital departments within a 3rd party facilities management account:

  1. Hard FM Maintenance,
  2. Engineering and Project Management, and
  3. Technology and Innovation.

Working under the guidance of the Contract Director, the General Manager will play a pivotal role in leading and managing these departments, ensuring their activities are aligned with the overarching objectives of the organization. This includes providing clear communication of performance expectations to department managers, monitoring both operational and financial performance closely, and taking proactive measures to resolve any service issues that may arise to maintain contract retention.

Moreover, the successful candidate will be tasked with managing projects and technology initiatives, cultivating a safe and cooperative working environment, and representing the company professionally at various meetings and events. With a keen eye for detail and a commitment to excellence, the General Manager will uphold established Key Performance Indicators and Service Level Agreements while fostering positive relationships with both internal and external stakeholders.

The ideal candidate will possess a degree or diploma in a related field, accompanied by a minimum of 15 years of people management experience and at least 5 years of experience in heavily regulated facility operations.

Furthermore, the ability to obtain necessary security clearances and demonstrate superior communication skills in English, both oral and written, is imperative. Additionally, strong analytical, critical thinking, and multitasking abilities are essential for success in this role, along with a proactive mindset towards continuous improvement and adaptation to evolving corporate policies and procedures.
