About You:

You are a talented professional looking for a career, not a job and dedicated to excellence in process design, management and improvement. Reporting to the Senior Manager, Financial Strategy, the Manager, Financial Strategy works within the Finance function to operationalize new business initiatives and streamline existing processes with the goal of optimizing efficiency. You are a well-rounded individual and have been recognized for your ability to turn business concepts into actionable, established processes. The Manager, Financial Strategy will help turn complex business concepts into reality - providing insight to shape new programs whilst fulfilling reporting obligations.

Responsibilities

  • Under the guidance of the Senior Manager, Financial Strategy, you will take a leading role in the management of multiple projects of the Finance team
  • Work closely with senior leadership, cross-functional teams, and external stakeholders to identify and define business initiative/project requirements, scope, and objectives.
  • Fulfill periodic and cyclical reporting requirements while remaining focused on process enhancement and improvement
  • Build and enhance large scale financial models to project financial outcomes and estimate impact of movement of defined assumptions
  • Utilize Business Intelligence tools to actualize financial models and forecast cashflow requirements
  • Monitor and track progress through internal BI tools and KPI management to identify leading trends and opportunities
  • Scope and prioritize activities based on business priorities and impact
  • Act as the point of contact and communicate project status adequately to all participants
  • Assist in the planning, design, documentation, and implementation of finance operations processes and transformation initiatives
  • Develop tools, templates and procedural documentation
  • Ensure success of initiatives/projects by driving day to day finance operations through the timely coordination of task assignments across the broader Finance team

Requirements

Must-Haves

  • Bachelors or Masters degree in Business Administration, Finance, Accounting, or a related field
  • Proficient at Excel and capable using complex formulas and constructing large-scale financial models
  • Excellent analytical skills with the ability to manipulate and interpret complex data and draw actionable insights
  • Ability to conceptualize and contribute to the design and formation of various reports required by the business and external partners
  • 5+ years within financial reporting or analytics function with a general understanding of key finance and accounting principles
  • Excellent Time Management Skills. Ability to work under time constraints and within short deadlines and can multi-task and deal with several projects simultaneously
  • Results-driven; Quality oriented. Strong attention to detail and quality, followed through to project completion
  • Background of successfully contributing to change initiatives & driving process/continuous improvement
  • Proven ability to learn quickly, absorb complicated concepts, and not afraid to ask questions
  • Ability to manage relationships in a fast-paced environment, while demonstrating persistence, persuasiveness, and problem-solving skills
  • Professionalism, positive attitude, and the ability to work well with diverse perspectives are keys to success in this position

Nice-to-Haves

  • Prior experience in consumer lending, financial services space, or Fintech considered a plus
  • Experience working in a start-up environment is a plus
  • Strong technical accounting background is a plus
