Raise is hiring a Project Engineer (P&C Centric) for Our Client, one of the largest electrical energy suppliers in Canada. This position is a One (1) year contract located in Burnaby, BC. We are actively seeking talented professionals like you to drive these crucial initiatives forward. High chance of extension for the right candidate.

Description

The Project Engineer in this role:

  1. Participates in the organization's engineering practices by conducting independent studies and analysis.
  2. Contributes to the development of technical standards, exercises judgment in selecting and interpreting information.
  3. Recommends safe engineering designs and makes decisions related to methods and designs.
  4. Provides guidance and advice to other engineering professionals to develop future capability.
Accountabilities

The Project Engineer will:

  1. Develop safe engineering solutions by using initiative and judgment to perform tasks.
  2. Analyze and resolve problems, and interpret engineering specifications on medium to highly complex assignments for projects and operations.
  3. Meet safety, cost, quality, and time objectives by proposing changes in plans and estimated costs.
  4. Recommend payment for work completed by contractors, prepare progress reports, and coordinate work schedules.
  5. Resolve highly technical and unusual design and field engineering problems independently.
Experience

The ideal candidate should have:

  • 10 years of experience in a relevant engineering field with an electric utility engineering background.
  • 4 years of working experience in leading or coordinating multi-discipline design teams.
  • Experience with developing designs, analyzing and resolving problems, and interpreting engineering specifications.
  • Good working experience with typical protection and control components.
Education and Skills

The candidate should have:

  • Registered Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) and be required to provide Proof of Permit to Practice.
  • Intermediate English skills for a professional environment, written and spoken.
  • Familiarity with CAD systems and drawing standards, and ability to use standard industry design/analysis software.
  • Intermediate MS Office skills (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint).
Additional Information

Every contractor must supply their own Windows 10 or 11 Laptop computer for the duration of the assignment. Every contractor must supply their own "Smart Phone". This is needed to gain access to the Organization's network.
