Permanent Full-Time Special Education (Resource) Teachers A Permanent Teachers On-Call (TOC) is a full-time continuing employee who will be placed in to long-term temporary positions (i.e. medical, parental leaves etc.), a continuing contract or work day to day in various Elementary Schools. The Special Education Teacher: Learning Support Programs and Services Works with students with developmental disabilities and/or autism Provides direct instruction to students using a variety of teaching and management strategies Develops, implements, and evaluates individualized education plans (IEPs) Liaisons with parents, school, district staff and multi-disciplinary team ( eg. doctors, physiotherapists, occupational therapists, nurses, social workers) Completion of a Bachelor of Education ~ Masters in Special Education ~ Diploma in Special Education ~1 year Full-Time Continuing contract as a Resource Teacher. Prior teaching experience is an asset. Completion of an Educational Assistant program and/or experience as an Educational Assistant is an asset. 3 Professional References -names, email addresses and phone numbers of your last three Administrators.
