Part-Time Temporary Educational Assistant

at École Springfield Elementary School

Springfield Elementary is located in the Town of Peace River and has an enrollment of approximately 360 students. Programming at the school consists of English, French Immersion and French Second Language programs for Grades K-4 students.

One Part-Time Temporary (0.90 f.t.e.) Educational Assistant is required commencing immediately and continuing until June 4, 2024 with the possibility of an extension. The successful candidate will be working in the a French Immersion classroom, therefore a mastery of both spoken and written French and English are a requirement of this position.

Qualifications:

• Educational Assistant Certificate or equivalent would be an asset
• Experience and/or training working in working with students in a school setting

Skills:

• Ability to work with children in group settings and one-on-one situations
• Ability to work with children with varying needs
• Excellent communication skills
• Experience working in a classroom setting
• Ability to work as part of a team

Requirements:

• Provide an acceptable current Criminal Record Check with Vulnerable Sector Check

This is a union position under the CUPE Local 4839 Peace River School Support Staff.

Rate of Pay:

$ 20.16 to $ 25.29 per hour (dependent on experience and education in accordance with the collective agreement between the CUPE Local 4839 and the Peace River School Division).
