Business Development Manager - Mississauga

Position Purpose:

Maintaining strong business relationships with Maersk's strategic clients while offering them transportation and logistics solutions that add value to the client's business, managing client expectations, and delivering positive results to Maersk.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Management of client Portfolio and strategic initiatives

  • Entry point to customer for all levels of the client organization

  • Migration of new integrated clients

  • Establish / maintain Critical Success Factors

  • Drive improvement within the client's organization

  • Selling Integrated logistics services including but not limited to:

    • Ocean Freight

    • Air Freight

    • Supply Chain Management & Value Added Services

    • Transload / Warehousing Services

    • Customs House Brokerage

    • Insurance

    • Intermodal / Ground Transportation

  • Monitor profitability

  • Contract renewal negotiations

  • Problem solving

  • Sales Force/ MS Tools Familiarity

  • Special account handling when needed

  • Handling general enquiries

  • Liaise with Management on strategic issues

  • Travel with client when mutually beneficial

  • Resolve large and/or complex issues/problems

  • It is the aim of management to utilize the Integrated Sales Representative to gain synergy between all operating systems, finance and business development groups within Maersk. In addition to gathering resources and coordinating developments within our own company, the Client Manager must communicate on many levels within the client's organization, often from front line customer service people up to CEO level.

  • Comply with all Federal, Provincial and Local legal requirements
  • Maintain technical and professional proficiency
    • Attend classes or educational workshops
    • Review professional publications
  • Performing other Job-related duties as required.

Required experience & skills:

  • Bachelor's degree is required

  • 3-5 years of external sales experience in International and Domestic Freight Industry

  • Business Understanding - Ability to demonstrate knowledge and understanding of customer and Maersk's industry and market dynamics, value drivers, products, services, systems and business processes.

  • Communication - Ability to convey, receive and share information to ensure mutual understanding internally and externally across all levels.

  • Excellent negotiation, listening, probing and closing skills.

  • Strong working knowledge of Salesforce.com and MS Office products (Word, Excel, Power Point, Outlook), and an ability to quickly adapt and work with new software.

  • Travel, as required

This position Is based out of our Mississauga location
