Northwest Territories Health and Social Services Authority – Yellowknife Region (NTHSSA) is one of eight health and social services authorities established by the Department of Health and Social Services in the Government of the Northwest Territories.
NTHSSA – Yellowknife Region delivers and administers Population Health, Primary Health Care and Social Services programs in the communities of Dettah, Fort Resolution, Lutselk'e, Ndilo and Yellowknife.

Job Information Located in Yellowknife and reporting to the Territorial Specialist, Chronic Disease Management (Specialist), the Dietitian-Diabetes Educator provides expertise in the
prevention and management of diabetes and its complications for the residents of the Northwest Territories. This position works with community health center staff, integrated
care teams, indigenous organizations, pharmacies, community groups, and the Department ofHealth and Social Services (DHSS) to promote healthy lifestyles and the development anddelivery of community programs in the Yellowknife region. The incumbent determines thenutritional management, education programming, resources, and teaching methods requiredto treat or support adults diagnosed with diabetes and its complications, and the preventionof diabetes in high-risk groups. This position requires the ability to handle several complexissues concurrently while maintaining attention to detail.
Typically, the above qualifications would be attained by:
A Baccalaureate Degree in Nutrition, and completion of an accredited Dietetic Internshipprogram, as well as two (2) years of recent dietetic experience in acute or ambulatory caresetting.
