POSITION SUMMARY:

The Environmental Health & Safety (EHS) Manager will be responsible for oversight of the safety programs in the London Plant, as subsequent site operations, to execute company policies and ensure compliance to all applicable local and regional regulations. A successful candidate will demonstrate the ability to build trust and confidence with the operations teams and inspire change through providing comprehensive risk assessments and data analysis. The EHS Manager will work directly with contractors, Diversey management, and production employees.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
  1. Oversee safety performance of the plant – track metrics, injury reports, safety compliance, etc.
  2. Ensure that Contractor Safety Management policy is implemented and followed and new contractor orientation is completed for all contractors working on the site.
  3. Create written EHS policies for operations relevant to OSHA and other regulatory standards and to include Diversey global standard requirements.
  4. Obtain appropriate environment permits and maintain permitting requirements and environmental compliance related to both construction and operations.
  5. Collaborate with site management to ensure safety elements of a transition from construction to full operational status are implemented to include: permitting, written safety policies, safety training for new employees.
  6. Measure performance against written policies and standard operating procedures (SOP).
  7. Define relevant KPIs for the site operations. Analyze metrics and incident trends to determine appropriate actions and responses to areas where the risk is highest.
  8. Perform frequent audits to identify non-compliance to SOPs and opportunities for improvement. Implement solutions to eliminate exposure to identified risks and prevent injury.
  9. Ensure both managers and all employees are trained and knowledgeable of their responsibilities under each EHS policy.
  10. Review and validate existing training materials for content and compliance.
  11. Develop training curriculum for new and existing employees, and continuously evaluate changes in the curriculum needed to keep up with business changes. Deliver training which meets the requirements of local and federal regulations.
  12. Provide guidance and oversight to ensure compliance to all applicable Diversey Policies.
  13. Ensure that timely incident reporting and investigations are completed for all incidents related to both construction and plant operations.
  14. Possess a thorough understanding of local/regional regulations and company policy.
  15. Assist with disability and return to work programs.
  16. Other duties as assigned.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

Bachelor's Degree in Industrial Safety, Occupational Health & Safety, Industrial Hygiene, Occupational Health Sciences or another relevant subject, preferred

8+ years' experience in Occupational Health & Safety. At least 4+ years in a chemical and/or manufacturing environment.

Broad knowledge of OSHA regulations and requirements.

Occasional travel as needed.

Ability to work cross functionally with teams to balance solutions in accordance with budget, schedule and tools.

Professional and effective facilitation skills - Should be able to facilitate group discussions.

Ability to work in a fast paced environment, and effectively prioritize to meet deadlines.

Attention to detail - Should be able to complete accurate data entry and develop accurate written materials.

Action orientated - Should be able to follow up on feedback to ensure positive outcomes.

Professional communication skills – Should be able to communicate with peers, customers and vendors both via verbal and written communication.
