Our team in Canada is growing, we are currently recruiting for a Lead Structural Engineer to join our Industrial and Infrastructure Business line in the Burnaby office.

Description:

  • Prepare structural engineering designs from conceptual design through to detail design, tender and construction in accordance with Canadian Codes and Standards
  • Perform analysis and design of steel, concrete, masonry, and timber structures and concrete foundations for new infrastructure projects and for seismic upgrade projects
  • Perform site visits, inspections, and preparation of reports relating to existing and new structures
  • Perform evaluation and analysis of existing structures for modifications and additions, and propose reinforcement solutions
  • Prepare specifications, design criteria, and material take-off for projects
  • Complete tasks ensuring that objectives of cost, quality and time are met
  • Be able to work directly with drafting staff in order to produce detailed drawing packages
  • Supervise the work of other engineers on the project team.
  • Liaise with client representatives and general contractors directly.
  • Support Business Development efforts

Qualifications:

· Bachelor's degree in Structural engineering from a recognized University. (Master's degree would be considered an asset)

  • Registered as a Professional Engineer in BC. Registration within another Province or internationally (PE) would be considered an asset
  • Designated Structural Engineer (Struct.Eng.) in BC

· 12+ years' experience in a structural design environment, including 10 years' experience in seismic upgrade projects

  • Thorough understanding of the design of structural steel, concrete, masonry, and timber
  • Proficiency in application of Canadian Codes and Standards
  • Proficiency in structural engineering analysis and design software such as SFRAME, ETABS or SAP2000.
  • Expertise in non-linear time history analysis would be considered an asset.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills in both written and verbal English
  • E xperienced in dealing with clients and contractors directly.

Salary range: $130,000-$175,000

Expected Salary: Variation in salary is determined by factors such as qualifications, relevant years of experience, and prevailing market conditions for the specific role.
