- Assist in the planning and execution of catering events, including weddings, corporate functions, and special occasions.
- Coordinate with clients to understand their needs, preferences, and event details.
- Ensure all logistical arrangements, such as venue setup, equipment rentals, and catering staff, are organized and executed flawlessly.
Team Member Management:
- Supervise catering staff, including servers, bartenders, and kitchen assistants.
- Provide training to new employees and conduct regular performance evaluations.
- Schedule staff for events, ensuring adequate coverage and efficient use of resources.
Customer Relations:
- Maintain positive relationships with clients and address any concerns or special requests promptly and professionally.
- Ensure that all catering services meet or exceed customer expectations for quality and presentation.
Inventory Management:
- Monitor inventory levels of catering supplies, equipment, and food items.
- Coordinate with suppliers to ensure timely delivery of fresh ingredients and necessary supplies.
- Assist in budgeting and cost control measures to maximize profitability.
- Track expenses, revenue, and profitability for each catering event.
Health and Safety Compliance:
- Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations, including food handling and sanitation standards.
- Implement and enforce safety protocols to maintain a safe work environment for staff and guests.
Experience
- Grade 12 education or equivalent.
- Minimum 3 years previous experience in catering or hospitality management
- Minimum 2 years of experience in a leadership role.
- Proven strong customer service experience in the service industry.
Skills
- Strong leadership and people management skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Proficiency in organizational and time management.
- Problem-solving abilities and decision-making skills.
- Financial management skills, including budgeting and cost control.
- Knowledge of inventory management and procurement processes.
- Familiarity with industry regulations and standards.
- Proficiency in computer applications such as Microsoft Office.
Certification
- ProServe Certification or equivalent for alcohol service.
- Food safety certifications such as ServSafe or equivalent.
- Any other relevant certifications related to hospitality management or food and beverage operations.
- Class 5 Drivers License
Other Requirements
- Flexibility in working hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle pressure effectively.
- Physical stamina to stand for extended periods and perform tasks requiring lifting, bending, and carrying.
