About the team + role
The Growth team's mission is to help Robinhood customers discover relevant products to support them on their financial journey. We power communication with all Robinhood users across email, push, and various in-app channels. You will tackle complex technical challenges and build platforms to help optimize user engagement and empower customers. As a Staff Software Developer on the Growth team, you'll have the opportunity to shape the future of financial technology.
What you'll do- Build a personalized platform to help customers discover relevant features and products across in-app, push, and email communication channels
- Drive technical direction of projects while mentoring and up-leveling junior developers
- Design large-scale systems, making the right tradeoffs for risk and long-term maintainability
- Lead organization-wide collaboration across multiple initiatives
- Build new products and features from conception to launch/production
- 10+ years of expertise designing, building, and scaling distributed systems and high-volume transaction applications
- Expertise in architecting and designing large scale notifications systems for delivering push, email, and other forms of communications.
- Experience working on a Growth team is a plus.
- Experience building recommendation systems, Ads, or search is a plus
- Experience setting technical strategy for a team and leading end-to-end execution across teams and functions
- Experience providing technical leadership to 5 or more developers and up-leveling the operational excellence of the team.
- Exceptional problem solving, critical thinking, communication skills, and a bias towards action
