Engineer or Engineer-In-Training, Long Range Planning

Reporting to the Senior Engineering Supervisor, the Engineer or Engineer in Training (EIT), Long Range Planning is responsible for developing and optimizing strategic long range plans to sustain and extend the Life of Mine at Line Creek Operations. The role involves executing all aspects of long-range planning including: pit, spoil and haul road design optimizations, life of mine schedules, strategic evaluations, all while considering potential impacts to sustainable development. This role is an excellent opportunity for an engineer looking to make a positive impact on the business.

Responsibilities:

• Be a courageous safety leader, adhere to and sponsor safety and environmental rules and procedures
• Execute on a wide range of mine planning including pit, spoil, haulage and closure design while considering potential sustainable development impacts
• Perform iterative production scheduling from KPI analysis to estimated coal blending results
• Influence strong site decision making through detailed data analysis and sound mining practices
• Perform economic evaluations, long range capital consolidation, productivity analyses, strategic planning assessments, and peer reviews
• Communicate mine development projects to the permitting groups within the business unit. Assist in developing mine permit applications and amendments and ensure mine plans are following permit compliance
• Participate in the development of annual reserves and resource reporting

Qualifications:

• Bachelor of Science in Mining Engineering, or related field, or equivalent combination of education and experience
• Minimum four years of experience in mine planning is preferred
• Professional Engineering Designation is preferred
• Proficiency in mine scheduling software such as XPAC Solutions, and mine design software such as Minesight 3D
• Solid understanding of the Microsoft Office Suite

Salary Range: $112,000 - $124,000

The actual base salary offered is determined based on the successful candidate's relevant experience, skills, and competencies and considers internal equity.

Successful candidates must be willing to satisfy the pre-employment requirements of a pre-employment drug screen and three professional references.
