The Role

We seek an experienced Engineering Manager in Data Engineering to join the Data Platform team and help us build a high-quality, world-class scalable, and efficient data platform. Key Responsibilites
  • Lead and manage a team of data and QA engineers, providing guidance, mentorship, and support to ensure high performance and a collaborative working environment.
  • Utilize strong knowledge of agile methodologies to streamline development processes, improve efficiency, and ensure the timely delivery of high-quality software solutions.
  • Oversee requirements gathering and analysis, working closely with stakeholders to understand and document project needs.
  • Develop and execute comprehensive project plans, ensuring clear objectives, timelines, and resource allocation.
  • Conduct risk assessments, identify potential bottlenecks, and proactively address challenges to minimize project impediments.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including product management, data science, and DevOps, to ensure seamless project execution and delivery.
  • Foster a culture of continuous improvement and innovation within the engineering team.
  • Provide regular performance feedback, conduct performance reviews, and participate in the hiring and onboarding new team members.
Who You Are
  • You have 3+ years of experience in a leadership or management role within an engineering team.
  • Strong understanding and practical application of agile methodologies.
  • Possess excellent leadership and management skills - able to lead, motivate and manage a team of engineers effectively.
  • Strong project management skills include planning, executing, and monitoring projects.
  • Able to prioritize tasks, delegate responsibilities, and ensure that deliverables meet quality standards
  • Proficiency in requirements gathering, analysis, and documentation.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively collaborate with cross-functional teams and stakeholders.
  • Ability to lead and inspire a team, fostering a culture of innovation and high performance.
Bonus Points
  • Experience in software engineering or QA is a plus.
  • You have experience working with an international team.
Salary Range
  • 140000 - 210000 CAD, per-year-salary
  • The typical salary range for this position is from $140,000-$210000 annually. The base pay offered may vary depending on a variety of factors including, your qualifications, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.
