North American Transit Account Manager - Rail (Remote)

Polycorp Ltd. is an industry leader in the design and manufacture of engineered polymer products that serves a global customer base in the Transportation, Mining and Protective Linings industries. The Rail Division has a proven history of supplying technical materials to rail projects globally. We are currently seeking to fill a full-time position for a North American Sales Account Manager for our Rail Division.

Position Summary:

You will be responsible for selling our Transit Rail products to our customers and growing this customer base by developing new relationships and chasing projects within North America. The focus will be on our existing product line as well as new noise and vibration products - selling to Engineering Firms, Designers and Contractors for Light Rail and Streetcar construction.

Key Responsibilities of this Role:

Developing and executing a strategic sales plan to achieve and exceed sales targets across North America.
Understand market competitors and industry trends to maintain our market leading position and for new product development (meeting with designers, attending trade shows, building relationships).
Multi-task and prioritize efforts towards several bids / quotes and new leads at once.
Utilize a persistent attitude and interpersonal skills to initiate meetings with new and potential customers.
Identifying and prioritizing potential customers, industries, and market segments to pursue business development - often long sales cycles for major projects.
Travel is required for trade shows & customer visits. Expected US and Canada travel is 50%.
Learn about new products in the market by spending time with Designers, Contractors, City representatives, etc.).
Follow up on all quotes regardless of earn/loss and share this feedback with the team for future quotes.
Develop strategic trip plans and produce reports on every trip.
Keep the Customer Market forecast sheet updated and complete Customer Sheets feedback sections.
Ensure customer inquiries are processed accurately, promptly, and according to our contract review procedure.
Hands on construction job site visits to provide key feedback for the division.
Receive and respond to customer, and intercompany inquiries both written and verbal, promptly and in a professional manner.
All other duties as required.

Skills & Experience:

Degree or diploma in Business Administration.
Proven track record of 3-5+ years in sales, Transit or Railroad industry would be a benefit.
Courses or industry knowledge specific to the rubber industry would be beneficial.
Customer relationship skills necessary - excellent selling, negotiation, and communications skills.
Strong time management and organizational skills.
Proven appetite to earn big jobs.
Needs to be highly motivated and driven to attain tough but attainable sales targets.
Preference will be given to Post Secondary education in Material Engineering or related discipline. Candidates must be able to demonstrate success of being mechanically inclined.

Knowledge Of:

Microsoft Office 365 - specifically Excel and PowerPoint
Syspro ERP
CRM Systems
Familiarity with iSqFt, SmartBid, BuildingConnected, other bid sites

Work Location:

Remote with occasional time required in the office for training and meetings
