The IBM - Resource on Demand Team is seeking an Application / Software Architect Level 3 (L3) for a contract opportunity in the Ottawa area .

Role description:
As a L3 - Application / Software Architect your role could involve , but is not limited to:
Analyze requirements and prepare appropriate specifications for the client.
Implement PLSQL code and stored procedures to assist in the manipulation of data for the client.
Code within Oracle databases according to specifications for the client.
Assist with the leadership of team meetings and provide weekly updates to management on progress.
Prepare solutions and recommend best option for the client.
Progress report on a weekly basis on activities undertaken which includes the following:
Activities completed within the reporting period;
Planned activities for the next reporting period;
Risks/issues that will require the attention of the Technical Authority; and
Corrective actions required.
Strategies and solutions for the client.
Solution architectural documentation for the client.
Technical documents, presentations and other materials, as requested by the Technical Authority for the Client.
Unit tests and integration tests for the client;
Test documents for the client;
Ensure applications meet the Government of Canada's Common Look and Feel (CLF) and the WCAG 2,0 accessibility
Mandatory Requirements:
Canadian Federal Government Security Clearance - Enhanced Reliability Status or higher
Minimum of 10 years experience as an Application/Software Architect
Experience must include all of the info in the role description above, including:
Implementing PLSQL code and stored procedures
Coding within Oracle databases
Experience with Government of Canada's Common Look and Feel (CLF) and the WCAG 2.0 accessibility guidelines.
Minimum of TEN years experience performing at least 60 % of the following tasks;
Create application models, methods, and tools that allow users to easily develop and integrate their projects into existing contexts (web or desktop);
Analyze functional requirements to define and document n-tier application components;
Participate in Rapid Application Development meetings with the clients or technical design meetings;
Select and recommend appropriate software acquisition and/or development strategy depending on the constraints of the project and the time frame for delivery;
Analyze system specifications for n-tier based application development, to identify information, procedures and decision flows;
Ensure applications meet the Government of Canada's Common Look and Feel (CLF) and the WCAG 2.0 accessibility guidelines;
Thoroughly test software to ensure proper operation, tool quality and high performance;
Identify and resolve operational, connectivity or performance problems;
Amend, expand, and refine the software to respond to new challenges and problems as required;
Collaborate with stakeholders in the architecture, analysis, design, specifications and documentation of system applications and databases;
Translate specification documents into effective program code;
Conduct technical impact assessment(s) of requested changes; and
Conduct knowledge transfer and coaching to other team members.
Provide recommendations and guidance to the Project Authority on matters of efficiency and effectiveness of the team;
Develop project tracking and progress reports;
Assist in the development of briefings to senior management; and
Develop and lead ongoing training sessions as requested by the Project Authority.

Education:
A University degree or College Diploma related to computer science, information technology, or engineering from a recognized post-secondary institution.
