Roll Off Driver/Labourer

GFL Environmental is looking for a Roll Off Driver/Labourer with a Class 3Q License to join our team in Fort McMurray, AB!

The Roll Off Driver/Labourer will be responsible for safely, efficiently, and courteously providing waste removal services and support to customers across multiple lines of businesses. The Roll Off Driver/Labourer will support the collection of waste from customer sites for transport to post-collection facilities for proper disposal.

Only candidates local to Fort McMurray will be selected for this position.

Key Responsibilities:

• Assist with pulling out bins along collection routes
• Must be able to work in a physically demanding role with 50% of the time spent performing various labour duties and 50% driving.
• Possess valid Commercial Class 1 or Class 3 Driver's License with Air Brake endorsements and clear driver's abstract.
• Must be able to demonstrate the ability to safely drive the truck and operate the equipment.
• Operate one or more vehicle types with both automatic and standard transmission and collect solid waste, yard waste and/or recyclables on a collection route. Route may vary daily based on service needs.
• Complete pre-trip and post-trip safety lane inspections and reports, daily truck report, route sheets and other documentation requested by supervisor daily.
• Operate truck and equipment using prescribed techniques to eliminate driver-induced mechanical failures.

• Maintaining equipment and tools
• Fueling vehicles and equipment
• Operating a range of site vehicles and equipment
• Painting and repairing bins.
• Assist with site work such as yard maintenance, and minor repairs if necessary. Basic welding knowledge an asset.
• Loader and Skid Steer experience.

Requirements:

• Must be able to walk, bend, reach, and lift regularly.
• Must be physically fit to work in an outdoor environment.
• Ability to lift 50 lbs regularly.
• Ability to manually push/move up to 100 lbs with assistance.
• Valid Class 3Q License and clean driver's abstract
