Position: Data Center Technician - Network Equipment & Infrastructure

Duration/Type: Full Time

Location: Field-based, with project assignments throughout Ontario and in the Calgary region of Alberta. Frequent travel is required based on project location and operational needs.

Reporting Office: 2500 Williams Pkwy, Unit 49, Brampton, ON L6S 5M9

Salary: $38.00-$40.00 per hour; The gross salary paid is subject to applicable Federal and Provincial income taxes and other statutory deductions such as EI and CPP.

Travel & Lodging: All travel and accommodation costs related to work assignments are covered by the employer.

Vacation: 4% of the gross salary

Hours of Work: 30-40 hours a week. Overtime rate applicable per provincial employment standards.

Essential Functions / Major Responsibilities:

• Install, rack, secure and commission servers, GPU systems, telecommunications equipment, and associated network infrastructure in data center environments.
• Install and support high-density NVIDIA AI infrastructure, including NVIDIA DGX B300, GB200, and GB300 systems and associated telecommunications and network equipment.
• Install, connect, test, and maintain Ethernet, InfiniBand, and other network switching equipment used within AI compute clusters.
• Connect telecommunications and network equipment across compute, leaf, spine, core, management, and storage infrastructure according to approved diagrams and port maps.
• Install, replace, and test optical transceivers, SFPs, DAC/AOC assemblies, network interfaces, and other telecommunications components.
• Inspect and test switches, circuits, physical connections, and network equipment to verify proper installation, connectivity, and operation.
• Diagnose equipment, connectivity, and transmission faults using appropriate testing tools and repair, replace, or adjust defective components as required.
• Install, terminate, and connect fiber optic, copper, Ethernet, InfiniBand, management, and related cabling required for network equipment.
• Interpret technical drawings, rack elevations, network diagrams, equipment specifications, and work orders to determine installation and testing requirements.
• Document installation, testing, troubleshooting, and repair activities and coordinate technical work with engineers, project managers, and data center personnel.

Education and Experience Requirements:

• Completion of secondary school is required; post-secondary education or field-based technical training in telecommunications, data center technologies are considered an asset.
• Minimum 2 years of relevant experience in data center equipment installation and network infrastructure deployment, including hands-on experience installing, connecting, or supporting NVIDIA DGX, GB200, GB300, or similar high-density GPU/AI computing systems and associated network equipment.
• Experience installing, connecting, testing, and troubleshooting Ethernet and InfiniBand switches, servers, optical transceivers, SFPs, DAC/AOC assemblies, and related data center equipment is required.
• Experience installing, terminating, and testing single-mode and multi-mode fiber optic, copper, and high-speed network connectivity within data center environments is required.
• Ability to interpret rack elevations, network diagrams, port maps, equipment specifications, and connectivity documents and use appropriate testing and diagnostic equipment is required.
• Valid driver's licence and ability to travel frequently to project sites throughout Ontario are required.
