Community Development OfficerRole Purpose

The Community Development Officer supports the planning and delivery of initiatives that address community needs, promote participation, and improve community well-being. The role involves working collaboratively with residents, local organizations, and key partners to achieve shared development priorities.

Key Responsibilities

• Engage with residents to identify community needs, priorities, and opportunities for development.

• Coordinate and support the delivery of community projects, programmes, and events.

• Establish and maintain effective relationships with local organizations, service providers, and community leaders.

• Promote inclusive participation, ensuring underrepresented groups have opportunities to contribute.

• Facilitate access to relevant services, information, and support.

• Assist with funding applications, budget monitoring, and the coordination of project resources.

• Monitor project activities, gather feedback, and prepare progress reports.

• Comply with organizational policies relating to safeguarding, confidentiality, and equal opportunity.

Qualifications and Experience

• Experience working with communities, volunteers, or local organizations.

• Strong communication, interpersonal, and relationship-building skills.

• Effective organizational skills, including the ability to manage competing priorities.

• Ability to work independently and collaboratively with a range of partners.
