Engineering Manager

Reporting to the President, the Engineering Manager leads product development and management from concept through market launch. The role oversees engineering and product teams and ensures quality, performance, cost, timelines, and compliance.

The position also plays a key role in developing new technologies, improving processes, and managing external suppliers and partners.

Duties/Responsibilities(include but are not limited to the following:)

• Manage the professional development of the Product Management team to enhance skills and efficiency.
• Lead internal and external engineering resources and support recruitment and development of technical competencies for new product development.
• Contribute to defining new technologies, components, and efficient turbomachinery products.
• Develop and lead go-to-market roadmaps from concept through product delivery.
• Collaborate with development and business teams to ensure clear product definitions and well-planned development programs.
• Provide technical leadership to development partners and suppliers to ensure high-quality, reliable products.
• Define roadmaps to improve product design, manufacturing methods, systems, and processes for efficient production.
• Oversee product engineering, development, and project management activities, including:
  • Product definition, goals, and design objectives
  • Development planning and design validation
  • Validation testing and certification
  • Cost estimation and tracking
  • Technical risk assessment and mitigation
  • Operations planning and efficiency monitoring
• Organize and manage Product Development Team activities.
• Monitor development and production progress through technical deliverables.
• Coordinate across relevant functions to resolve and escalate blocking issues.
• Manage and measure product performance using appropriate metrics, systems, tools, and techniques.
• Plan and execute testing and certifications according to applicable standards.
• Collaborate with Quality Assurance to implement quality processes for product development, validation, and production.
• Report progress across Engineering, Manufacturing, and Supply Chain teams.
• Prepare and lead product reviews, including budgets, executive reviews, and customer reviews.
• Coordinate with internal stakeholders in Engineering, Contracts, Finance, and Logistics.
• Manage external suppliers, including milestones, deliverables, risks, and quality systems.
• Establish and manage product KPIs and report on product performance.

Required Skills/Abilities

• Degree in Engineering and minimum of ten (10) years' experience in product Management
• Business /product Management education will be considered as asset.
• First-hand experience of working on products and in project teams is highly desirable.
• Knowledge of development processes leading to successful product
• Good ability to work autonomously, in teams and in a demanding and fast-changing environment.
• Capacity to manage priorities in the context of multiple and complex project deliveries.
• Ability and willingness to travel occasionally to develop targeted customers and suppliers.
• Strong people skills and good stakeholder management: listening, negotiation, conflict management, communication, and intercultural skills in an international context.
• Ability to be flexible, pragmatic and.
• Good attention to details and has analytical skills with focus on achieving accuracy the first time.
• Conduct other activities TBD as assigned by the President.
• Fluent in English and advanced knowledge of French.
