Underwriting Assistant

Our client, a leading organization in the insurance industry, is seeking a dedicated Underwriting Assistant to join their team. As an Underwriting Assistant, you will be part of the underwriting support team, assisting with document processing and administrative tasks. The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong attention to detail, adaptability, and enthusiasm for learning, which will align successfully within the organization.

Job Title: Underwriting Assistant

Location: Markham, ON

Pay Rate: $20/hr

Shift: 7.5 hours per shift

What's the Job?

• Assist underwriters with processing documents including new business, renewals, and endorsements
• Enter data accurately into Guidewire and Legacy systems under the guidance of team leads
• Provide excellent broker service, focusing on personal lines auto and property accounts
• Support the team in achieving production goals and meeting deadlines
• Help transfer policies efficiently through the conversion process and assist with other assigned duties

What's Needed?

• Ability to adapt to change and perform effectively under pressure
• Strong multitasking skills with the ability to monitor progress and meet deadlines
• Enthusiasm for learning and taking on new challenges
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with a solution-oriented mindset
• Basic knowledge of Excel and comfort with learning new systems quickly
