Are you a dependable, motivated team player with strong communication skills? We're hiring a Batch Plant Operator in Red Deer, Alberta to help keep our concrete plant running safely, efficiently, and to the highest quality standards.
In this role, you will be responsible for overseeing daily concrete plant operations, ensuring quality and safety standards are met, managing materials and inventory, operating and maintaining plant equipment, and supporting plant employees and production activities.
What you will be doing
- Provide professional customer service through clear, respectful communication with customers, drivers, and team members
- Interact with plant employees daily and report absences and personnel issues to the Production Manager
- Complete required paperwork, reports, records, and logs
- Ensure compliance with health and safety, environmental, employment, and company policies
- Verify each load for volume, mix, added products, and other quality requirements
- Safely and efficiently operate plant equipment
- Receive and inspect raw materials
- Perform routine maintenance and oversee cleaning of the concrete plant
- Monitor plant inventories, including cement, fly ash, admixtures, and aggregates
- Adjust batching weights and quantities as needed to maintain specifications
- Perform other duties as assigned
What we would like from you:
- Concrete mixer truck driving experience is an asset
- Knowledge of concrete products and batch plant operations is preferred
- Mechanically inclined with strong mathematical skills
- Intermediate computer skills
- Ability to successfully pass pre-employment checks
Location and other key details:
- This is a full-time permanent field-based position at our site in Red Deer, Alberta
- The regular work week is Monday to Friday, with some weekend work depending on customer needs
- Must possess a valid driver's license with a clean motor vehicle record
- This is a safety sensitive position, offers of employment are conditional on successful completion of fitness for duty assessments, including drug and alcohol screening and a criminal background check
- Required to wear personal protective equipment (PPE) including safety shoes, vests, and glasses, ear plugs, and hard hats, with additional PPE for special jobs as required
- Must be willing and able to work in all weather conditions and challenging outdoor environments
- Occasional travel to various job sites required as needed
