The successful candidate will be responsible for the strategic development, implementation, and evaluation of programs that meet the needs of the region and align with the company's strategic direction. This includes non-credit training and education in workforce and corporate training, lifelong education, and career and technical training. The Dean will work closely with various program divisions to create pathways into credit-bearing programs, ensure effective communication with other departments, and collaborate with external partners to develop curriculum that meets regional training needs. The role also involves monitoring departmental activities, managing operations on a cost-recovery basis, and overseeing all grant-related activities. Applicants for the Dean position must have a Master's degree with coursework in business, higher education, or a related field, and at least six years of directly relatable experience. Essential qualifications include expertise in curriculum and program development, excellent communication skills, and a strong background in proposal writing, grant management, and reporting. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of the role of workforce training and continuing education in the regional economy, knowledge of labor market trends, and experience in managing project teams and relationships with senior-level stakeholders. Sensitivity to the diverse backgrounds and needs of learners is also a key requirement, with a preference for candidates who have experience working with Indigenous communities and developed ties with industry and business stakeholders in the region.
