Parts Technician

Chinook Equipment in Pincher Creek is looking for a Parts Technician to join our expanding team. This is an exciting role as it offers the best of both worlds: serving customers in our busy parts department while gaining experience in learning the service operations of the business through assisting our Service Manager with writing work orders for equipment repairs.

What You'll do as a Parts Technician:

Assist all customers in sourcing and ordering parts in a friendly, professional and efficient manner Take orders for parts by telephone, email, retail counter and for our internal techniciansProvide accurate parts and freight quotes to customers Inform customers of companion part requirements and specialsMaintain effective communication within the department and with other departments/individuals in the branch (keeping them informed of the status of back-ordered or special-order parts to ensure a timely turnaround of parts needed for internal jobs, etc.)Accurately process all customer transactions such as returns, orders, quotesAssist the Service Manager in writing work orders for equipment repairAssist in parts driving/pick up and yearly inventory counts

Skills and Experience:

Parts counter experience in heavy equipment, automotive or working with a private/third party parts retailer Committed team player with the ability to work independently and as a teamExceptional customer service and communication skills including the ability to use tact, sensitivity, empathy and professionalism when interacting with customers and employees over the phone and in-person.Strong attention to detail with automotive/equipment systems aptitude and a demonstrated computer efficiency The ability to perform physical work which includes repetitive lifting of up to 50lbsValid Drivers LicenseAbility to provide a clear criminal record check
