Class 1 Driver - Shunter

Job Description: Class 1 Truck Driver / Yard Shunter

Schedule: Night (10:00 p.m. to 6:00 a.m.), Monday to Friday
Location: Departure from Bécancour

Position Summary:
The shunter is responsible for safely and efficiently managing the movement of wagons, trucks, and trailers within the yard or site. They ensure proper placement of vehicles according to operational needs while adhering to safety standards.

Key Responsibilities:

• Safely maneuver wagons, trucks, and trailers as required.

• Inspect and check equipment before and after operations.

• Communicate effectively with operators and site personnel to coordinate movements.

• Maintain a safe and organized work environment.

• Follow internal procedures and policies, as well as safety regulations.

• Document activities and report any issues or incidents.

Qualifications:

• Strong in either French or English
• Ready to work on call, including holidays and weekends
• 2.5+ years of experience
• Valid class 1 license

Requirements:

• Experience as a shunter, driver, or in logistics is an asset.

• Valid driver's license (class as per local requirements).

• Knowledge of warehouse and site safety rules.

• Ability to work in a team and communicate clearly.

• Availability to work various shifts based on operational needs.
