About the Role

Float is looking for a Software Engineer to build and enhance the technology powering its modern fintech platform. You'll work alongside product managers, designers, and fellow engineers to develop secure, scalable, and high-performance applications that support payments, corporate cards, expense management, and business banking solutions.

Key Responsibilities
Design, develop, test, and maintain scalable software applications and backend services.
Build APIs and features supporting payments, card transactions, expense management, and financial workflows.
Write clean, maintainable, and well-tested code.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver new products and enhancements.
Optimize application performance, reliability, and scalability.
Participate in code reviews and promote engineering best practices.
Troubleshoot production issues and improve system monitoring.
Ensure software meets security, privacy, and compliance standards.
Contribute to system architecture and technical planning.
Support CI/CD pipelines and automated deployments.
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
Experience developing web applications, backend services, or distributed systems.
Strong understanding of software engineering principles and system design.
Experience with APIs, databases, cloud platforms, and automated testing.
Ability to thrive in a collaborative, fast-paced startup or scale-up environment.
Experience in fintech, payments, or financial services is an asset.
