Adecco is currently hiring a Senior Network Security Specialist for a 2-year contract opportunity in Ottawa, ON. This hybrid role is ideal for an experienced IT professional with a strong background in network operations, Cisco technologies, Azure Cloud Networking, and production support who thrives in complex, highly regulated environments.
In this role, you will provide operational support, resolve complex technical issues, support production environments, and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives focused on system reliability, performance, and modernization.

  • Pay Rate: $100,000 - $130,000 per year, based on experience
  • Location: Ottawa, ON (Hybrid 8 days on-site required per month)
  • Schedule: Monday to Friday 8:00 AM - 4:30 PM (Overtime may be required)
  • Employment Type: Full-Time 2-Year Temporary Contract

Responsibilities

  • Support the operational team with a focus on system evergreening and ongoing operational improvements.
  • Resolve complex cross-functional technical issues in a timely and effective manner.
  • Participate in planning and executing testing activities related to production deployment validation, performance, failover, vulnerability remediation, and disaster recovery.
  • Analyze current solution environments to identify deficiencies, optimization opportunities, and areas for simplification.
  • Define and implement required upgrades, enhancements, and changes to address operational challenges and evolving business requirements.
  • Support troubleshooting activities across production and non-production environments.
  • Provide operational expertise and technical support throughout the solution lifecycle.
  • Contribute to continuous integration and continuous deployment (CI/CD) processes and support development-to-production transitions.
  • Collaborate with technical teams to improve system reliability, scalability, and availability.

Qualifications

  • Must be legally eligible to work and reside in Canada.
  • Must hold a valid Secret level security clearance or be eligible to obtain one.
  • University degree or college diploma in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 5 years of recent demonstrated experience in testing, operations, development, or integration within network management environments.
  • Minimum of 5 years of recent demonstrated experience working with Cisco networking equipment, including Cisco Nexus 9K, 9300, 6508, and APIC platforms.
  • Demonstrated experience working with Azure Cloud Networking.
  • Strong knowledge and experience in IT Operations, including operational capabilities, processes, and common challenges.
  • Experience supporting the full development lifecycle, including continuous integration and continuous deployment (CI/CD) processes from concept through implementation.
  • Experience working with scalable and highly available service-oriented architectures.
  • Experience working within Agile environments.

Additional Qualifications

  • Experience working with ServiceNow is considered an asset.
  • Experience working with Cisco ASA and/or Check Point firewalls is considered an asset.
  • Strong troubleshooting, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional technical teams.
