We are currently seeking a Cargo Coordinator to join our Import Transload team in Prince Rupert.

ABOUT THE ROLE:
The Cargo Coordinator has the primary responsibility to coordinate the movement of cargo in order to meet documentation and cargo cut-offs in a manner that optimizes customer service and IntermodeX costs. In addition, the position provides ongoing support to the Logistics Coordinators desk and the Operations Supervisors when required.
WHAT YOU'LL DO:
Operations
- Provide necessary Warehouse operators with documentation for shipping/receiving.Schedule necessary truck requirements with Logistics Coordinator.Plan weekly loading schedules for all customer orders in alignment with the Operations Supervisors.Liaise with trucking companies to organize the inbound receiving to the facility utilizing the inbound receiving portal.Complete data entry into Warehouse Management System (WMS).Provide customers with monthly inventory reporting from WMS.Assist the Operations Supervisor and Logistic Coordinator to achieve maximum loading efficiencies with the daily labor plan.Request documentation or cargo cutoff extensions as required.Liaise with customers to confirm loading schedules for orders and assist the Operations Supervisors and CSR Teams to ensure timely communications with each customer of changes or challenges encountered during the loading, documentation, and transportation process.
Administration
- Assist in the development and implementation of contingencies for changes or service failures in the supply chain.Assist in the implementation of corrective action as required for terminal changes.Assist in developing and implementing proposed recommendations and SOP's to increase operational efficiencies.
WHAT YOU'LL BRING:
We're looking for someone with the right blend of knowledge, skills, and abilities to succeed in this role.
Knowledge
- A Post-Secondary education in transportation, logistics, international trade, or related discipline.
- Minimum 2 years of logistics experience.
- Functional knowledge of Microsoft Office (Excel, Outlook and Word).
- Proficiency in English is required.
Skills
- Strong communication, comprehension, and analytical skills.
- Highly organized with strong attention to detail.
- Proven track record of exceptional customer service and professionalism.
- Positive and outgoing with strong interpersonal skills.

WORKING CONDITIONS & PHYSICAL / SENSORY REQUIREMENTS:
- This position will have exposure to the outdoors, including heat, cold weather, rain, and noise.
- There will be frequent exposure to heavy equipment that is operating in the terminal.
- There is a high degree of mental demand for this position and requires a high attention to detail required throughout the day, ensuring accuracy at all times.
COMMUNICATION:
This position is exposed to rapid changes of operational plans requiring extraordinary communication with stakeholders and customers.
External communication with suppliers, vendors, regulators, and related personnel will be required.
This position will be customer facing and will require a high level of professionalism in order to satisfy stakeholder needs and maintain a high level of customer satisfaction.
