Assume full responsibility for large-scale projects, including health and safety, quality, costs, schedules, risks and client satisfaction;

Promote Canmec's health and safety culture;

Plan, organize, direct and control all project activities, from engineering through commissioning;

Serve as the main point of contact for the client throughout the project;

Ensure contractual compliance, including scope, exclusions, change management, penalties and deliverables;

Develop and maintain a detailed project schedule and monitor progress in coordination with Engineering, Manufacturing, Procurement, Quality and Site teams;

Implement the required tracking tools, including dashboards, performance indicators and progress reports;

Provide the information required to support project KPIs;

Identify variances, analyze root causes and recommend corrective actions;

Work closely with cost control and invoicing teams;

Prepare and present project progress reports;

Coordinate interfaces effectively with other departments, including Engineering, Procurement, Manufacturing, Quality, HSE and Site teams;

Understand and manage the commercial and technical requirements of the contracts and specifications for assigned projects;

In collaboration with the Project Directors, manage project stakeholders, including clients, subcontractors and other parties involved;

Lead internal and external project teams;

Act as a mentor and resource for junior project managers;

Foster accountability, ownership and collaboration;

Provide active support to site teams;

Act as the direct manager of employees assigned to the site;

Ensure that contractual quality requirements are clearly understood and respected;

Work with the quality control team to manage non-conformances and corrective actions;

Review technical documentation and client deliverables;

Ensure the administrative and financial closeout of projects.

Bachelor's degree or college diploma in Civil Engineering or Mechanical Engineering, or any other relevant combination of education and experience;

Knowledge of the hydroelectric and/or aluminum and/or industrial mechanics and/or mechanically welded fabrication sectors;

Excellent command of spoken and written French;

Proficiency in English, as the role involves working with English-speaking clients;

Knowledge of project scheduling software;

PMP certification is considered an asset;

Technical knowledge of welding, including standards, calculations, supervision and related practices;
