Specsavers Woodgrove is Hiring a Clinical Tech (Hybrid Role)

Full-time or Part-time $19.00-$21.00/hour In-person, Nanaimo, BC

No optical experience required - just a kind heart, strong attention to detail, and a passion for helping others.

As a Clinical Tech, you'll play a vital role in both the clinical and administrative sides of our hybrid care model. You'll be the in-person support for our tele-optometry doctors, helping patients feel at ease, operating diagnostic equipment, and guiding them through their eye exam. When not actively working with a patient, you'll transition into admin duties such as confirming appointments, assisting with patient intake, and supporting the flow of care across departments.

We'll train you on everything - what matters most is your attitude, your reliability, and your compassion.

What You'll Do:

Patient-facing:

Greet and care for patients throughout their visit
Operate equipment and guide patients during their virtual eye exam with the optometrist
Act as the eyes, ears, and hands of the doctor - ensuring comfort, clarity, and accuracy
Escort patients between rooms and provide support during transitions

Administrative (when not with patients):

Call patients to confirm or schedule appointments
Help input information into our systems
Coordinate with the tele-optometry team
Support our clinical and retail teams as needed

Education & Experience:

High school diploma or equivalent
No optical experience needed - we train the right people!
Background in customer service, retail, admin, or healthcare is an asset
