MSALABS is an experienced global provider of geochemical laboratory services to the exploration and mining industries in Canada, the USA and around the world. We have a rapidly growing network of laboratories in key mining regions around the world to limit lead times and transit costs and we employ the latest hi-tech analysis equipment.
We are looking for a dedicated and detail orientated self-starter who has the following skills and experience:
Responsibilities:
Carry out Data Approval procedures in accordance with documented Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) or recognized standard reference methods.
Report any deviation from documented procedures to the Spectroscopy & Data Approval Manager.
Sign and Issue Test Reports when authorization is received.
Inform the Spectroscopy & Data Approval Manager of any nonconforming event related to customer samples, or other departmental operations.
Inform the Spectroscopy & Data Approval Manager conditions within the department.
Act in a safe and professional manner and wear appropriate attire.
Monitor the performance of the equipment and QCs and report all deviations to the Data Approval shift lead or manager.
Practicing good housekeeping.
Communicate general laboratory issues to Spectroscopy & Data Approval Manager as appropriate.
Perform other duties as required by management.
Requirements:
Able to work effectively in a team environment as well as independently.
Excellent organizational skills and ability to multitask.
Detail orientated and ability to work very well under pressure.
Ability to follow written and verbal instructions.
BSc or Technical Diploma in Chemistry or a scientific discipline or equivalent experience.
0-3 years' experience in a commercial laboratory.
Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.
Must be fit and able to perform the inherent requirements of the job.
Job Types: Full-time, Fixed term contract
Contract length: 12 months
Pay: $18.00-$21.00 per hour
Expected hours: 30 - 40 per week
