Job Overview:

Hiiye'yu Lelum Society seeks a skilled, self-starter, creative, individual to work with children, youth and their families as the FASD Keyworker for this full time Position. The FASD Key Worker is responsible for providing education, information, and support to families of children and youth with FASD, probable FASD, and other Complex Developmental Behavioral Conditions (CDBC). The FASD Key Worker supports families, assisting them to access services and acting as a community resource on FASD and CDBC. The Keyworker will collaborate with other community professionals such as medical, educational, legal and various service provider to help support families they work with

Responsibilities and Duties

Provide direct outreach services to children, youth, families or caregivers and Assist and support families to interpret and implement assessments

Provide families with resources, and information FASD/CBDC conditions

Educate families about available services and resources

Assist families in advocating for their children's needs

Make appropriate referrals for support/counseling to other departments, agencies or professionals

Offer programs and workshops for community, families and professionals to engage in learning about FASD /CDBC and promote awareness

Maintain appropriate client/administrative records

use a client-centered holistic approach with families

oversee staff (1) in the FASD program to maintain balanced caseloads

Prepare and submit reports and statistics (Nucleus database), in a timely manner

Qualifications

A Bachelor's degree in human or social services field or a combination of education, experience, training

Working knowledge in FASD and similar developmental

Must possess and maintain a valid BC Driver's License use of a reliable vehicle to use for work.

Excellent written and verbal communication

Be self-motivated and possess excellent time management

Working knowledge of computer software including, Database programs (Nucleus) MS Office (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint) Communication tools (Zoom, Teams, Skype).

Ability to be flexible and creative in planning with clients, families and Caregivers to meet individual needs
Have a strong und erstanding of local Indigenous cultures and practices as well as promote diversity and respect for cultural diversity in interactions with clients and colleagues.

Pay: $32.00-$34.00 per year

Expected hours: 35 per week
