Position: Fire Protection Designer/Engineer

Rocky Point Engineering is a highly successful Mechanical Consulting Engineering firm with 8 offices across British Columbia and we are seeking candidates with both education and experience in hydraulic fire protection design.

We are seeking a self-motivated Fire Protection Designer/Engineer with a minimum of 2 years' experience in mechanical drafting and design using REVIT and/or AutoCAD. The successful candidate will be involved in fire protection design.

Responsibilities:

The main Responsibilities will include, but not necessarily limited to the following:

Setup AutoCAD/Revit drawings using company AutoCAD/Revit design and CAD standards
Production of fire protection piping and head layout drawings.
Perform hydraulic sprinkler design and pipe sizing using specific design software
Preparation of details, schematics and specifications related to fire protection design.
Detailed review of work performed prior to submitting completed drafting to design team and working within company's organizational quality management system
Perform various other duties as assigned by the manager

Minimum Skills /Qualifications:

Strong verbal and written communication skills.
University degree, college/technology diploma in Mechanical Engineering
Minimum 2+ years design and AutoCAD experience in Fire Protection Engineering.
Able to read Architectural, Structural, Mechanical and Electrical drawings
Ability to multi-task and meet project deadlines.

_Optional Skills / Qualifications: The following are optional but would be an asset for the candidate_

2 + years of BIM/Revit experience in fire protection modelling
Senior design team leadership experience.
Site related fire protection experience at field reviews.
Ability to deal with site related construction correspondence such as answering RFI's and issuing of site instructions.
Experience in client management and quality control procedures.
Experience in public and private sector fire protection project design in various market sectors.

Compensation:

Compensation levels will be based on relevant experience, experience level, relevant skills, professional qualifications, role and responsibilities and will be in the range of $60,000 to $90,000 per Anum.
