LTL & TL transportation within QC and between QC-ON-North East USA. Dry van & container moves. The majority of QC activity occurs within Montreal & east to Quebec City. Argus also operates a Toronto division and also welcomes dispatchers with knowledge of the Toronto region.

Environment & Job Responsibilities:

We are seeking city, container drayage & highway Senior Dispatchers to work in an exciting and fast paced environment at our hub terminal located in St Laurent, QC. You would be an integral member of a dispatch & customer service group who work "hand-in-hand" to provide efficient & reliable service to our clientele. As well, as Senior Dispatcher you are the key communicator with our drivers and counted on to treat everyone with great respect.

Primary Job responsibilities include:

Working with drivers in QC/ON & USA ensuring on-time & efficient operations.

Schedule driver runs intelligently and to maximize profitability. Determining the best routes and order of pick-ups & deliveries.

Communicate (via phone/text/geotab) with drivers to advise their next pick-up and deliveries.

Working closely with the drivers on any problems they may encounter.

Working very closely with fellow dispatchers to co-ordinate the daily activities.

Advising Customer Service Representatives of any issues so the CSR may communicate directly with clients.

Update changes in run and freight details in Truckmate system.

Troubleshooting various issues as encountered by drivers, fellow Dispatchers & Customer Service personnel. Promote prompt & efficient problem resolution.

Communicate on an "as needed" basis with senior personnel including VP Operations, Safety & Compliance Director, Fleet Manager, etc.

Participate in weekly Operation & Planning meetings, usually held virtually. Provide your insight.

Update Accessorial Charges in the truckmate software system.

Updating shipment status in the dispatch system (Truckmate).

Confirm that pay-roll calculations made by drivers are accurate.

Your people skills:

Highly organized and detail oriented.

Ability to be calm and professional in a busy environment.

Able to communicate in a professional, concise & respectful manner.

Excellent multi-tasking skills.

Take pride in your work ethic.

Education:

Minimum high school. Higher education would be an asset (but not a deal breaker) such as Cegep or Undergrad degree.

Experience with dispatch software such as Truckmate would be an asset.

Very comfortable working with computers.

Fully bilingual (conversationally).

Excellent driver management skills.

Knowledge of custom documentation (cross border shipments) an asset.
