Property Manager Assistant, Langley, BC (Live In)

CONTRACT POSITION SUMMARY
As a Property Manager Assistant, you would be operating in a dual role in supporting the overall operations of the company by assisting the Property and Operations Manager and to be the primary contact and link for our residents in two apartment buildings in Langley. You are an integral component in developing and maintaining good resident relationships for our buildings. Your skills would include being approachable, proactive, and professional, cleaning skills, and good working knowledge of the BC Residential Tenancy Act and Regulations. This portfolio requires previous experience in the Property Management industry. A valid driver's license and own vehicle is required.
Duties and responsibilities will include but not be limited to:
Monthly rent collections and deposits, general administrative duties, including, tenant move outs and annual suite inspections. (Two Buildings)
Ensuring and maintaining cleanliness in the common areas of the buildings and property (Two Buildings)
Daily rounds of the property to ensure security and cleanliness standards are met for residents. (Two Buildings)
Respond to emergency calls quickly and efficiently (during both regular and after-hours as needed).
Providing Property Manager with regular updates and advice on preventative maintenance measures. (Langley Sites)
Assist in leasing residential units, interviewing prospective tenants, screening, and reference checks, as needed to assist the Langley Leasing Manager (Langley Sites)
Participate in weekly site inspections and assist in identifying building needs for current and future maintenance of the building. (Langley Sites)
Assist in monitoring contractor completion of work. (Langley Sites)
Be a second point of contact for our Langley site staff.
Building positive relationships with tenants and promptly responding to their concerns. (Langley Sites)
Working effectively with other building team members. (All Sites)
Assist in the scheduling of annual fire inspections, scheduling of contractors and requesting quotes from contractors for capital projects. (All Sites)
Vacation coverage of staff when temporary absences occur due to illness, injury or vacation. (All Sites as needed)
Other duties as required by the Property Manager. (All sites as needed)
Annual coverage when the Property Manager is on vacation.
QUALIFICATIONS
The ideal candidate will have the following background:
Ability to handle confidential information and discretion.
Organized, detailed-oriented and capable of handling multiple on going tasks.
Ability to manage customer expectations, provide outstanding customer service, and form effective, trustworthy relationships with a wide variety of people.
Excellent communication skills as well as clear and concise reporting skills - both written and oral and promotion/negotiation skills.
Effective time management skills, organized, and the attitude for "making it happen" and "getting it done"
General understanding of the BC Residential Tenancy Act and Regulations.
The ability to understand a situation from someone else's perspective, the ability to help them understand your perspective, and the ability to influence a positive outcome always keeping a calm demeanor.
Being bondable, providing a criminal check and having an excellent credit rating is essential.
