We are currently recruiting for a full-time permanent Quality Assurance Lab Technician .
Key Responsibilities:
Understand and follow Quality System documents relevant to responsibilities, e.g.,
Quality Manual, SOPs, and methods
Perform physical, microbiological, and sensory analysis on frozen fruit products.
Review microbiological and physical testing results
Release ingredients and finished products in multiple electronic systems
Sampling of raw material and finished product when required
In process-check: CCP, CP, Quality check when required
Prepare and ship samples for testing (microbiological, allergens, etc.)
Verify that raw materials and finished products meet specifications
Environmental monitoring (air and water quality)
Maintain logs and records as required by quality procedures and data entry
Investigate problems, taking action to resolve as required
Responsible for the maintenance and implementation of assigned programs.
Prioritize daily workload to accommodate due dates
Participate in internal and external audits when requested
Document verification, document control
R&D sample preparation, autoclave operation
Receive and ship supplies, assist in restocking laboratory consumables/chemicals, and general laboratory clean-up and maintenance
Job Requirements:
Ability to work both independently and as part of a team, in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
Highly organized and detail-oriented
Strong time-management, multi-tasking, priority setting & problem solving skills
Repetitive tasks such as; sampling, cooler preparation, filing, sample disposal
Equipment operation such as; X-ray detector, metal detector, scales etc
Effectively work with multiple electronic systems on a daily basis
Passing level on - screening process 'Colour Blind Testing'
Strong communication (English - verbal and written)
Ability to work in partial work cold temperature
Available to work on Saturdays approximately once per month
Education & Experience _:_
Certificate/Diploma or bachelor's degree in sciences, food processing, microbiology, or related field or;
High school diploma or equivalent with a minimum of 3 years combined of academic science & work experience working in food processing or other GMP/GLP environments
Knowledge of HACCP, SQF or other GFSI scheme is an asset
Existing certification or willing to complete HACCP program
Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word and Excel)
Experience in food industry will be considered an asset
