Adventure School Manager

Job Summary:
The Adventure School Manager leads and supports the Adventure School Team, ensuring seamless communication between instructors and management to create positive and memorable experiences for guests, school groups, and Team Members. This role requires demonstrating positive energy, resourcefulness, safety-first practices, and professionalism. _ NOTE: This involves skiing/snowboarding, luge, golf, and downhill mountain biking. Applicant must be phyically active. _

Key Responsibilities:

Culture and Environment:
- Foster a work culture that aligns with Nitehawk Year-Round Adventure Park's values, promoting a healthy and positive environment.

Program Development:
- Develop innovative programs for schools and the public to enhance guest experiences.
- Maintain or increase participant numbers and profit margins through engaging, high-quality programs.

Team Management:
- Oversee a team of instructors and staff, handling hiring, training, scheduling, discipline, and performance evaluations.
- Ensure efficient use of instructors by managing the lesson desk and scheduling.

Training and Development:
- Provide training sessions for supervisors and staff.
- Maintain relationships with certifying bodies to schedule certification courses for instructors.

Customer Service and Professionalism:
- Uphold Nitehawk Year-Round Adventure Park's standards of customer service.
- Handle guest inquiries, feedback, and complaints professionally and promptly.

Safety and Equipment:
- Ensure the safety of guests and staff by enforcing all safety protocols.
- Monitor and maintain equipment and facilities in good working condition.

Interdepartmental Coordination:
- Maintain positive relationships with other departments.
- Coordinate with departments such as Guest Service, Operations, and Rentals for a seamless guest experience.

Administrative Duties:
- Organize and maintain records for employees, training, and lessons.
- Monitor and analyze performance metrics, recommending improvements.

Budget and Special Events:
- Manage the annual budget for the department.
- Assist with special events and promotions related to the Adventure School.

Position and Duties:

You will report to the General Manager and direct all aspects of our sports instructional programs, including:
- Adventure School and Bear Paw program development, management, and updates.
- Seasonal lesson and program bookings.
- Marketing to build business.
- Representing Adventure School at weekly Managers' Meetings.
- Ensuring programs are adequately staffed to support revenue goals.
- Continuously updating instructor/lesson availability to maximize sales.
- Implementing new techniques or programs to enhance products.
- Working closely with schools and school programs.
- Monitoring registration numbers and adjusting staffing and program capacity.
- Ensuring the Adventure School is organized and professional.

Essential Job Functions:

- Communicate clearly and respectfully with guests and team members.
- Coordinate Adventure School programs and supervise on-field staff.
- Promote guest loyalty through engaging learning experiences.
- Supervise children in Kids' program operations, ensuring their safety.
- Collaborate with all departments and maintain positive communication with the team.
- Maintain current qualifications and pursue ongoing professional development.
- Prioritize personal health and safety.

Supervisory Responsibility:
This position supervises and coaches Adventure School Instructors and Adventure School Volunteers. Supports the Adventure School Admin and School Group Coordinator. Manages the rental shop and rental tech team.

Required Qualifications and Abilities:

- Minimum of 4 seasons as a sports instructor (ski/board, mountain bike, luge, golf) with at least 2 seasons in a supervisor or lead role.
- MUST HAVE Level 2 or higher Certification from CSIA or CASI (or international equivalent) & PMBIA Certificate would be an asset.
- High level of physical fitness and sports abilities.
- Fluent in English (spoken and written).
- Excellent guest service and communication skills.
- Ability to work well in a team.
- Capability to work in various weather conditions.
- Availability to work five to 6 days a week, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
- Clear background check results, valid within 30 days of the hire date.

Working Conditions:
Work schedules are weather-dependent, requiring flexibility, including weekends and holidays. Shifts involve standing for long periods, lifting, twisting, shoveling, biking, golfing, ski/snowboarding and other manual tasks.
