Responsibilities:
- Greet and welcome guests in a friendly and professional manner
- Experience dialling in espresso beans, adjusting grinds and volume to achieve desired coffee taste
- Be able to steam milk to 60C without the use of a thermometer, with varying levels of foam to suit drink ordered, be able to pour heart, tulip and rosetta as the minimum for latte art
- Process payments accurately on the POS system
- Provide information about the baked goods and beverage programme.
- Handle guest inquiries, requests, and complaints promptly and courteously
- Assist with food preparation and handling in the bakery
- Ensure compliance with food safety regulations
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the front of house area
- Handle cash transactions accurately and efficiently
- Maintain a high level of professionalism and confidentiality
Requirements:
- Previous experience in customer service, preferably in the specialty coffee industry
- Knowledge of basic food handling and safety practices
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Strong time management skills to handle multiple tasks simultaneously
- Ability to handle cash transactions with accuracy
- Basic math skills for calculating bills, discounts, and change
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with attention to detail
A winter contract may be offered for the right candidate
