Island EHS is a Vancouver Island-based occupational hygiene consulting company. We have an immediate need for a full-time entry level occupational hygiene technician to work in our Kamloops office. This is a permanent full-time position. Experience an asset but not necessary (training will be provided) . The candidate must have a valid Driver's Licence and a reliable vehicle with appropriate insurance. Mileage will be reimbursed.

Responsibilities for this position include:

Carrying out sampling services for clients and occupational hygiene work

Air sampling

Asbestos air sample analysis

Hazardous materials surveys

Maintaining appropriate records for all aspects of the business

Ability to complete work in a timely fashion

Although some experience in these areas is helpful, we will provide the following training:

Air sample collection

DOP Testing

Asbestos air sample analysis by PCM

Hazardous materials surveys

Inspections and associated reports

The successful candidate will require the following skills:

Excellent time management

Fluency with Microsoft Office suite

Good client relations

Attention to detail

Organizational skills

Ability to work independently and as part of a team

Technical writing skills
