Job Overview
We are seeking a skilled Architectural Drafter to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong foundation in architectural drafting and design, with proficiency in various CAD software. This role involves collaborating with architects and engineers to create detailed drawings and plans that meet project specifications and standards. The Architectural Drafter will play a crucial role in the visualization and execution of architectural projects.
Responsibilities
Develop detailed architectural drawings, schematics, and models using CAD software.
Collaborate with architects and project managers to understand project requirements and specifications.
Create 2D and 3D representations of designs using tools such as AutoCAD, Sketchup, and Revit.
Prepare construction documents, including floor plans, elevations, sections, and details.
Conduct site visits to gather measurements and assess project conditions as needed.
Revise drawings based on feedback from team members or clients to ensure accuracy and compliance with regulations.
Maintain organized records of all drafts, revisions, and related documentation.
Stay updated on industry trends, materials, and technologies to enhance design processes.
Provide support to project managers by creating detailed material takeoffs, schedules, and shop drawings for fabrication and installation purposes.
Requirements
Proficiency in CAD software such as AutoCAD, Revit, or similar tools.
Experience in creating schematics and detailed architectural designs is preferred.
Strong understanding of BC building codes, regulations, and construction practices.
Ability to produce high-quality 2D animations for presentations is a plus.
Excellent attention to detail with strong organizational skills.
Effective communication skills for collaboration with team members and clients.
A degree or certification in architecture or a related field is preferred but not mandatory.
