Job Summary:

Interested in working with a dynamic and professional team in an exciting culinary environment? The Restaurant at Poplar Grove has immediate openings for a Host and Expo to round out our season.

These are dynamic roles that includes cross-training between various support duties. The ideal candidate will have a passion for hospitality and guest services, and a keen interest in developing restaurant skills.

The Host and Expeditor roles are integral parts of the Front-of-House team and require a hardworking individual that takes pride in their work and thrives in a fast-paced environment. You must be able to work with a team and take direction well from your colleagues. This is a great opportunity to work with a team of professionals eager to establish Poplar Grove as an industry-leading culinary destination.

Host duties include:

Being a great ambassador for the company as the first point of contact to guests.

Answering phones and taking reservations.

Becoming adept at using our reservation system.

Keeping the workplace tidy.

Greeting and seating guests, taking reservations, and managing the flow of guests at the entrance

Communicating with Managers, Servers, and Tasting Room Associates

Expediting (Expo) duties include:

Managing order flow: Organizing and prioritizing orders to ensure timely preparation and delivery.

Quality control: Ensuring dishes meet restaurant standards.

Communication: Communicating with chefs and servers about order modifications, special requests, and any issues that may arise.

Time management: Monitoring the timing of food preparation to avoid delays.

Presentation: Ensuring proper plating, garnishing, and portioning before dishes leave the kitchen.

Cleanliness and organization: Maintaining a clean and organized pass, assisting Servers with side duties were possible.

Additional information:

Seasonal until October 1. Possibility of extending beyond Summer season.

2- to 5-day work week

Compensation: $17.85 per hour plus gratuities. Daily meal is provided.

Opportunity to progress into Bartender role and Server role
