Established in 2003, Canvas Gallery is a vibrant arts venue representing 80+ Canadian artists from all across the country. Our aim is to create a relaxed environment where art can be accessible to everyone, from long time collectors to those exploring purchasing original art for the first time.

Our ideal candidate for Gallery Administrator/Sales Assistant has an enthusiasm for art and working with the public, administrative experience, is self-motivated and comfortable taking on a variety of tasks in a space that can vary between slow and fast paced.

We are a small, close knit team that has worked together for many years, and are hoping to find someone who would be able to make a long-term commitment and grow within the business. This position is currently part-time (schedule to be determined) with weekend availability required.

Position Requirements:

- Administrative experience, excellent computer skills, comfortable in a Mac environment and knowledge of typical admin software (word processing, email applications)
- Proficient in Photoshop/Adobe Creative Cloud
- Experience using Small Business Accounting Software (Quickbooks, AccountEdge)
- Some experience with spreadsheets and related software
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, and attention to detail
- Experience with email marketing and website platforms is a plus (Squarespace, Canva)

- Proficient in social media (Instagram, Facebook, blog updates)
- Can work independently, self-motivated when things are quiet/can handle environment that can be both slow and fast paced
- Comfortable talking to clients on the phone and in person
- Ability to multitask: can handle a variety of tasks including office admin/filing, social media, handling/wrapping, shipping of art and general gallery maintenance and to determine what is priority at a given time
- Comfortable climbing an 8' ladder, ability to lift up to 40 lbs
- Creative/open to new ideas
- Enthusiastic about art, gallery experience an added bonus
- Committed to potential long term employment
- Weekends necessary
