Position Description:
The Shift Manager plays a key role in ensuring the smooth operation of our restaurant during scheduled shifts. They will lead by example, providing guidance and support to team members while upholding our standards of excellence in food quality, customer service, and cleanliness. Your leadership will contribute to the overall success of our team and help create a positive work environment for everyone.
Essential Functions:
Ensure that teammates respect food charts, recipes, and other preparation procedures.
Ensure that procedures relating to storage and rotation of supplies and food are observed.
Ensure that procedures for maintaining freshness and food quality are observed and that employees of the restaurant provide the best customer service possible.
Resolve all guest opportunities with politeness, courtesy, and efficiency.
Ensure that sanitary procedures are respected and that the interior and exterior of the restaurant are cleaned and maintained according to company standards & procedures.
Ensure that the inventory is carried out and stocks maintained at an appropriate level by company policy.
Ensure that all directives on health and safety at work are known and respected.
Assist the manager in achieving productivity goals (labor and food costs) and take over during employee breaks.
Ensure that staff follow the rules and policies of the restaurant, and maintain, and promote, a good work environment by motivating employees.
Delegate tasks effectively to ensure efficient workflow and optimal use of resources.
When required, assist the manager in recruitment and staff training, performance evaluation, and supervision of work teams.
Minimum Qualifications, Knowledge, & Skills:
Minimum of 1 year of supervisory experience in the quick service restaurant industry.
High school diploma or equivalent.
Demonstrates the ability to interact with customers and coworkers in a friendly, enthusiastic, and outgoing manner.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Strong organizational and time management skills.
Ability to remain calm and composed in fast-paced environment.
Basic math and proficiency in cash handling
Demonstrates the ability to bend, twist, and stand to perform normal job functions.
Experience in customer service, ability to handle guest concerns, and cash handling experience.
Oversee daily operations, manage a team of Crew Members, ensure adherence to company standards, and assist with inventory management.
Flexible to work days, evenings, weekends, and holidays, as needed.
Work Environment:
Primarily indoor environment with occasional tasks outdoors
Involves standing and walking for long periods without frequent rest periods (duration of shift)
Requires frequent motions of bending, wiping, sweeping, mopping, wrapping, and squeezing.
Routinely reach overhead, forward, and underneath shelves, counters, tables, and kitchen equipment
Frequently squat or stoop to reach items on low shelves or off the floor.
Occasionally climb on stools or ladders and reach for items located on shelves.
Vital role in providing excellent customer service and preparing signature subs.
