Position Overview:
We are seeking an experienced and organized Ready-Mix Concrete Dispatcher to join our team. This critical role is responsible for the efficient daily scheduling and dispatch of our fleet to meet customer demand and production goals. The ideal candidate thrives in a fast-paced environment and has strong communication, planning, and problem-solving skills.
Key Responsibilities:
Schedule and dispatch 39 concrete mixers and 5 boom pumps to meet daily customer needs
Communicate effectively with drivers, customers, and plant staff to ensure timely deliveries and service
Monitor real-time operations and make adjustments as needed to optimize fleet efficiency
Coordinate with sales, quality control, and plant operators to manage order timing and delivery expectations
Maintain accurate records of deliveries, truck status, and customer orders using dispatch software
Resolve issues such as traffic delays, weather impacts, or last-minute customer changes with professionalism and urgency
Ensure all drivers follow safety protocols and company procedures
Support a team-oriented work environment and contribute to continuous improvement
Qualifications:
Previous dispatching experience in the ready-mix concrete, transportation, or construction industry preferred
Strong logistical, organizational, and time management skills
Excellent verbal and written communication abilities
Ability to work well under pressure and handle multiple tasks simultaneously
Proficient with dispatching or fleet management software (experience with Command Alkon or similar systems is an asset)
Knowledge of the Calgary area and surrounding region is a plus
Must be reliable, punctual, and have a strong work ethic
Work Conditions:
Full-time position, typically Monday to Friday with occasional weekends or extended hours during peak season
