Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented Asphalt Materials Technician with a focus on testing and quality control. You will play a key role in supporting geotechnical and materials engineering projects through field and laboratory testing, data collection, and reporting.

Roles and Responsibilities
Conduct construction QA/QC monitoring, inspection, and testing programs for asphalt concrete.
Perform mixture verification testing for Superpave and Marshall asphalt mixtures, ensuring compliance with required specifications. This includes testing for maximum theoretical and bulk density, asphalt content, sieve analysis, and core thickness/density measurements.
Assist engineering teams with project coordination, report preparation, and technical support.
Prepare field reports documenting test results and project updates.
Coordinate with Project Engineers and Site Inspectors to manage sample delivery and testing requirements
Perform routine calibration of testing equipment to maintain accuracy.
Assist engineering teams in developing operating procedures, safety protocols, and laboratory testing programs.
Extended stays at mobile site operations across Nova Scotia may be required, depending on project needs.
Qualifications
Valid Nova Scotian driver's licence.
Willingness to travel within and outside of Nova Scotia.
Minimum of Grade 12 or equivalent education.
CCIL Type A and/ or B certification is considered an asset.
Previous experience in asphalt testing and a strong understanding of construction materials testing would be a significant asset.
