Job Summary:

Milo Productions Inc. is actively seeking a creative and highly skilled Technical Art Director to join our dynamic team in the animation industry. The ideal candidate will be responsible for leading and overseeing the technical aspects of art production, ensuring the highest quality of visual output while maintaining the artistic vision of our animated content.

Job Responsibilities:

Lead the technical art team in the creation of high-quality visual assets for animated projects.
Collaborate with the creative team to define the visual style and technical direction of animation projects.
Develop and implement efficient pipelines for animation, including character rigging, modeling, texturing, and lighting, to streamline the production process.
Ensure all technical art processes align with the overall creative direction and project goals.
Oversee the integration of art assets into the animation pipeline, ensuring compatibility with various software and platforms.
Optimize assets for performance without compromising visual quality, particularly for real-time rendering.
Oversee the integration of 2D/3D assets into the animation pipeline, ensuring compatibility with various software and hardware platforms.
Lead the development of shaders, effects, and other technical elements to achieve the desired visual style.
Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues related to art assets, ensuring that they meet technical requirements and run smoothly within the production environment.
Supervise and guide a team of artists and animators, providing technical support and mentorship.
Work closely with the production team to set realistic timelines and meet production deadlines.
Maintain detailed documentation of technical processes and workflows.
Stay up to date with the latest industry trends and advancements in animation technology.

Job Requirements:

Bachelor's degree or a Technical Diploma in Computer Graphics, Animation, Game Design, or a related field.
Minimum 8 years of experience in animation, with at least 5 years in a technical art leadership role.
Proficiency in industry-standard software, including Maya, Mudbox, Substance Painter, Adobe After Effects, and Unreal Engine.
Extensive experience in 3D animation, modeling, rigging, and texturing.
Strong understanding of animation pipelines, including character setup, rendering, and post-production.
Experience with real-time rendering engines and understanding of optimization techniques.
Familiarity with digital media storage and retrieval systems is a plus.
Proven track record of solving complex technical challenges in a production environment.
Basic communication skills in English to collaborate effectively with other team members.
Familiarity and understanding of French is a plus.
Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines while maintaining a high standard of quality.
Strong organizational and leadership skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and projects simultaneously.

Pay: $37.00-$38.00 per hour
