BUILDING MAINTENANCE WORKER OPPORTUNITY AT AMAZING YEAR-ROUND RESORT!

Powder King Mountain & Azouzetta Lake Resort is seeking a Building Maintenance Worker for maintaining building assets at our growing year-round resort.

Nestled in the pristine wilderness of the Canadian Rockies, Powder King Mountain Resort offers the best of the great outdoors. This hidden gem ski area boasts an amazing annual snowfall of 41 feet and 5000 acres of mountain terrain that ranges from breathtaking drops for the adventurous skier, to the gentle groomed slopes of beginner runs. In addition to our current primary enterprise of alpine ski services, Powder King also operates its' adjoining Azouzetta Lake Lodge Resort facility, which offers lakeside dining, camping, cabin rental and water recreation activities.

Powder King continues to develop its resort base area, building streets, developing land and building new homes for sale. We are looking for a talented individual with a strong carpentry and residential home construction and project management skills who possesses an unending "Can Do" positive attitude that is enjoyably infectious for the benefit all of the Resort's team members.

The successful candidate will be responsible for effective and efficient maintenance and repairs of resort building assets and is a position with broad responsibilities requiring a dynamic individual comfortable working in a fast-paced environment. The ideal candidate will have a strong entrepreneurial mindset, enjoy living in a mountain resort environment and be excited to participate in regular maintenance and repair tasks as required.

Key Overall Responsibilities:

Maintain a professional attitude and represent Powder King Mountain Resort values
Act as a Powder King Host & Ambassador on and off the hill.
Exceed expectations by going out of your way to assist all guests, being courteous, friendly and informative, ensuring the ultimate customer service experience at the resort.
Foster an atmosphere of safety and co-operation, and promotes positive teamwork amongst your team members as well as in all other Powder King Mountain Resort locations.
Carry out other related duties as assigned.

Position Specific Responsibilities:

Performs carpentry, electrical, painting, mechanical and plumbing maintenance and repairs such as repairing furniture, constructing shelves, installing switches, replacing plugs and other basic appliance repairs, applying paint and other finishes, repairing drywall, disassembling and reassembling equipment, replacing sinks and toilets and applying finishing material such as linoleum.
May be required to monitor work performed by contractors, prepare estimates of labour and material costs, contact external contractors and trades people to obtain quotes and arranges for major repairs and maintenance work.
Completes and maintains related records such as maintenance logs and security incident reports.
Transports equipment, furniture and supplies manually and/or using aides such as dollies and carts. Operates a motor vehicle to pick up and move goods and supplies. Arranges furniture for special events.
Performs other related duties as required

Required Skills, Qualifications, Experience & Abilities:

Must be able to perform position specific job responsibilities.
Experience with a variety of trades and/or construction projects.
Good understanding of construction contract documents.
Valid Class 5 driver's license.
Effective time management and decision-making ability.
Opportunity mindset with ability to identify areas of improvement.
Good communicator and team player.
Detailed oriented and quality conscious.
Reliable and punctual.

Physical Demands:

Must be able to sit, stand, and walk for the duration of the shift
Ability to work at heights
Ability to work in cold and harsh environments
Ability to lift and carry 35kg at times
Must be able to kneel, bend, stoop, squat, and stretch to fulfill duties
Requires grasping, tool use, writing, standing, sitting, driving, shoveling, repetitive motions, climbing, listening and hearing ability, and visual acuity.

Powder King is located in the Pine Pass between the Caribou Region in the south to the Peace Country Region in the north, an easy two hour drive north of Prince George, alongside Highway 97. Powder King draws its customer base from Prince George, Mackenzie, Chetwynd, Dawson Creek, Fort St. John through to Grande Prairie Alberta.
